The first ot thes classes is the S per cent Issue, redeemable In from 15 to 30 year, with the final maturity June 15. 1917. These bonds are known aa series A. The second class, series B, are known as ' 4 per cent convertible bonds, and these are the bonds that will be used to replace the s in the operation of converting- the 3a to the higber percentage oasis. These class B bonds will nut be sold at all. Only Juat enough will be Issued to care for the conversion of the 3Vii. The third series, class C are the 4s that are being offered in this, the second issue. The class B bonds mature In 1947. while the elasa C bonds nature in from 10 to 25 years, with final redemption in 1942. The class C bonds will be ready for delivery after October 15. in all proba bility. A large number of these bonds. In denominations up to $1000, are said to be in the federal reserve banks now. I ready for delivery to the banks. The ' convertible series has not been pre pared and the time of their delivery is somewbst doubtful. Another point about the class C 4s is that tbey are teing sent out with only four cQupona, attached. This number of coupons Is gcod for two years, and the govern ment, in the meantime, will have pre pared the balance of the coupons. The biggest task of all in connection with preparing the bonds is that of making the coupons, and it was this work that so greatly delayed the work of getting out the bonds sold in the first campaign.
