Carload shipments of Oregon grape to tbe
Portland market are materialising and Indi
cations point to sn increase in this business
within tie next few years,
Firet full carload of Bogu itiver Tokay
gripe ha arrived in tbe local market from
tirvnta I'ass, and five more carload are ex
pected before tbe season closes.
me stock is packed in lues and 1 SO far
superior, both In color and keeping quality,
to th California offerings tbat the latter
c&nnot be compared with the local offering.
For aome reason or other the Tokay grapes
of California this season were of poor quality
ana aia not Hold up very well. While tbe
grape rrom tne south never did show such
bright color a tbe vranta Pas Tokay, still
this season the difference Is more marked
than uaual.
While there is rather liberal movement
of grape In general, so much atock 1 being
offered that tbe trad sbow a wide apread

with final redemption in 1942.
The class C bonds will be ready for

In denominations up to $1000, are said
to be in the federal reserve banks now. I
ready for delivery to the banks. The '
convertible series has not been pre

is somewbst doubtful. Another point
about the class C 4s is that tbey are
teing sent out with only four cQupona,

gcod for two years, and the govern

biggest task of all in connection with
preparing the bonds is that of making
the coupons, and it was this work that
so greatly delayed the work of getting
out the bonds sold in the first campaign.
