Another truck covered 1055 miles and delivered 216 yards of rock and $38 barrels of oil. The cost per yard per mile on the rock was 6 cents On oil the cost per barrel was 84 cents. This does not Include the salary of a driver. Country storekeepers and farmers don their overalls and help out until the supply Is exhausted. Thus It goes from on batch to another. In the early stages of . the wofk there was a long delay In getting ce ment, but this has been overcome. Bids for this work were called for last May, but were all rejected because they were consideded too high. The reason for this change of policy Is the report of Commissioner Adamr that the county courts of Yamhill and Folk counties had reached an agree ment that the highway between Mc- Minnville and Dallas should be routed ! by way of Ballston with a stub road from McMinnville to Amity.
