WILL GREET FORMER FRIENDS IN PORTLAND COMMISSIONERS MUST Mrs. Etta Parrlsh, an eye witness to the shooting of Joseph Oue, Chi nese merchant, the eveninj? of March 27, took the stand this morning In Circuit Judge Gatens' court during the trial of Wong Wen Tueng, charged with Guc's murder, and testified as to her recollection of all the events : immediately leading up to and fol lowing the crime. t Mrs. Parrlsh, according to her tes timony, was directly opposite the Dtore at 250 Madison street in front of which the machine stood that Gue was occupying when shot. She was . on her way over town, she said, and her first intimation of trouble was . the sound of revolver shots, coming -apparently from across the street. Following the first two shots. Mrs. . Parrlsh said, she looked across at the machine standing In front of the res taurant, and immediately after saw a man come from behind It, fire a half ' dozen more shots Into It, and then run "up the street. Her description of the murderer was vague nnrt her only identification of the prisoner, Tueng. In the court, as the possible man whom she had ?een running up the street, was that he had the same general build. The light coat worn by the prisoner at the time of his arrest was produced and Mrs'. Parrlsh stated that It seemed to be the same shade as the coat worn by the man she had seen do the shoot ing. City Physician Fred Ziegler and H. C. Dietrich were the only other two witnesses called by the state this morning. 1 ' ', '',' swass PICK PRIVATE CLERKS FROM ELIGIBLE LIST New Members of Council Find They Cannot Select Sec retaries From Private Life.
