Is Wanted on Forgery Charge A re ward of $260 is offered for informa tion leadinrr to the arrest of Homer Pal more Ford, wanted hero on a charge of having forged several thousand dol lars' worth of checks while employed as a bookkeeper for the Peninsula lytimber company. Iord left the lum ber concern recently and ta be lieved to have departed from Portland several days later in company with a young woman. Cataoiio roreeters Oppose War.- The Catholic Order of Koresters has adopted resolutions urging that the people of the ,United States be kept out of the European war none. The resolutions pledge loyal support to Prcsfdent Wilson and say that it is the firm conviction of the organiza tion members that he is doing all in his power to prevent the American nation f rom Htif fering'the sorrows and hardships of war. The resolutions also petition Senators Chamberlain and Liana and Congressman McArtbur to use their utmost efforts to preserve peace. Underwriters Elect Officers. At the ennual meeting of the IJfe Underwrit ers' Association of Oregon, officers were elected as follows: Horace Mock lem, president; O. The feasibility of the construction of a municipal1 lighting plant was discussed at length Tuesday by Commissioner Daly at the East Side Business Men's semi-monthly luncheon at their Grand avenue clubrooms. Daly outlined hi ideas concerning the best plan to go about such a project, as contained in his extended report which ho placed before the council this' morning. New and im proved holds and strokes in swimming and methods or resuscitating drowned persons will be demonstrated by WiB iam Marcus Simpson, inventor and expert instructor, in room A, Central library, at 8 p. m. The equllibrant system of learning to swim and to es cape drowning persons, in case of emergency, will also be explained. Ad mission is free. Habits of the Mole. Theodore II. Scliieffer, assistant biologist, United States biological survey, will lecture in room A of the Central library on Thursday evening at 8 p. m. on "The Habits of the Mole and Means of Trapping Them." San Francisco. Feb. 21. (P. N S.) The body of the late Major General Frederick Funston will reach San Francisco at 3:30 o'clock Friday after noon. It will lie in state at the city hail until shortly after noon Satur day, when the funeral will be held in the First Presbyterian church, where the Funston family worshiped. Rev. William Kirk Guthrie will preach the funeral sermon. Major General J. Franklin Bell. In person will command the funeral es cort accompanied by his utaff. al mounted. Kvery other military honor will be paid to the body of the distin guished soldier. Those in general were the arrange ments announced late today at army headquarters. Some details were still to bu completed. Remains on Special Train. Charles S. r ee, general passenger and traffic manager of the Southern Pacific company received a telegram last night from the San Antonio office that the body had left on a special train as the first Section of train No 9, accompanied by Captain Fitshugh Lee, the late general's aide-de-camp, and an escort of eight soldiers. The body will bo met at Third and Townsend streets by a battalion of reg ular coast artillery men. It will be carried on a caisson of Battery B, First California field artillery of Oak land, to the city hall, and lie in state there with a guard of honor until the hour of the funeral. Mayor Bolph Makes Keqnest. This was granted at the request of Mayor Rolph, and the public will be allowed to view the body throughout the night. AH of the regular troops etaioned around the bay and every officer will be in the funeral profession that will escort the body to the chutch and later to the Presidio. Invitations have been sent also to the National Guard, the United Span ish War Veterans, the Veterans of For eign wars, the Ixyal Legion' and other military organizations to accompany the body on the last march. At the door of the church the body will be removed from the caisson by eight pallbearers, ivorr-commlesioned officers, and they will carry it into the odifico, followed by the pallbearers, who will be officers of high rank. Military Parade to Cemetery. There will be nothing military abo it the services In the church. The train 'bearing the body of Major General Frederick Funston to San Francisco for burial passed through here today. It will arrive at El Paso late today.
