Salem, Or., Oct. 11. Morrow county has lust completed its first reenforced 10 concrete bridge, the plans of which were prepared by the state highway 10 department. The department also had charge of Inspection. The bridge Is located at the Buschke ranch and spans 0 Rhea creek, nine miles above lone. It Is a 40 foot epan, with the supporting 10 girders on either aide acting; as guard rails, thus giving the maximum water 25 ! way beneath. j The bridge's cost was found to De cheaper than a steel span, according , to the highway department, and was considerably below what the county court had anticipated. j A new policy is to be followed by j the Morrow county court in the future. It is proposed to construct about three bridges of the type just completed every year, replacing; existing wooden brldgea and culverts. Capper Goes to Texas. Salem, Or., Oct. 11. Percy Cupper, assistant state engineer, left Tuesday evening for El Paso, Vexas, where he will attend the International Irrigation congress, which opens October 14.
