Assistant State Superintendent Carlton, who Is superintendent of the edcuatlonal department, has had charge of the programs and has praise for the children who have participated. iast evening the school children of Wasco county gave a fine entertain ment and the previous evening the pupils, of the state blind school gave a program of interest.- consisting of music, songs ' and a cantata. Railroadmen's Excursion Biggest, The largest excursion ever sent to the State Fair at Salem left by spe cial train this morning. One thousand Harriman club members, their wives and women friends are making it a State Fair holiday and as a conse quence the Southern Pacific, O.-W, K, & N. and Portland. Eugene & Eastern offices are all closed.
