A Portland man brought them o his home In Portland, where they re mained until about 6 o'clock Sunday morning, when they went to their own homes. Monday evening the 17 and 19-year- old girls, It was stated, were Intro duced to two other men by a taxlcab driver, and they again visited the mu waukie tavern, remaining there until 2 o'clock Tuesday morning, then going to a hotel In Portland. Complaint Xa Mad. Tuesday afternoon the guardian of the 17-year-old girl made complaint to the department of safety for women that the girl had disappeared. The de partment located" the lrl. who told of the trlpg to the Milwaukio roadhouse. While Investigating this case the de partment unearthed the cases or tne other girls. One of the girls stated that at no time was she questioned as to her age by the manager of the club, except Tuesday night, when a patron of the place called tl e manager's attention to the youthful appearance of the girl. Then the inanagtr a&ked her age, but did not require her to leave. The same girl told Mrs. Baldwin that she saw other girls at the club, many of them apparently under age. These otnef girls, she said, were served with liquor without being questioned. "My investigation so far indicates that the club has violated all the rules of decency." said Mrs. Baldwin this morning. "Not only the club, but some of the men patronizing the place are to be blamed. lknow of other cases in which girls takfen to this place by men have acted shamefully. "This Is a case' where a searching inquiry and Investigation is needed. Taxlcab drivers shoul4 stop the prac tice of directing parties to the club. Manv men we meet In everyday busi ness are Involved, and if my evidence is substantiated they will be taken be fore the grand Jury at Oregon City."
