Last Sunday afternoon the Council of Portland Congregational churchee assembled In a apeclal session to receive into fellowship the congrega- gatlon.of the Park Roee church; Dele gates and paetora from all churches were present. Dr. J. J. Btaubb of the Sunnyaide Congregational church pre sided . as moderator with Rev. A. W. Bond acting as scribe. Dr. Staubb spoke on behalf of the council, welcoming the new church into- fellowship with the Congregatlonalista. Dr. George E. Pad duck also spoke, bringing greetlnga from the atata The formal reception into membership followed and the tempor ary organization which bad been in ex istence for soma time became a perma nent one. Messrs. Pond. Legg and Miller are trustees of the new churoh with Messrs. Crabb, Lega and Budd as deaoons. Mrs. A. Perry will serve aa deaconess. H. J. Miller is treasurer and Mr. Crabb, clerk. With the large territory that there is to cover in . thla section the church is sure to grow. Already tttere is a Sun day school of 100 pupils. McGaw, the. secretary of the conference, who has proved such an efficient head of the great organiza tion, and appeared so acceptably throughout the city in recent months, will speak at 11 a. m. 1 Mission Supported 4 Endeavorers of the Central Christian church take a great deal of Interest In foreign missionary work. During the present year they are supporting a na tive missionary at-Monegli, India, coat ing about S30. The name of this mis sionary Is Dayaralm, which means "merciful God." Not only are they sure of supporting him this year but already have raised half of his support for 1914. A mission study circle meets en Tuesday evening. Miss Gertrude Wil liams, chairman of the missionary com mittee, and Mlsa Mary Leper are lead ers of the society. Curtis Beach was re cently elected to the office of president of the Christian Endeavor society; This church will be host to the Endeavorers of their denomination In the city on July 7, .
