Chicago showed a loss of 5c to 10c in the hoe market for the day. : Tops sold there this morning at $i.5, but only in exceptional lots. Run for the day was 16,000 head, compared with 23,000 a year aro. Kansas City hog market was nickel lower than yestreday with top offer ings tins morning at $7.80. ItunXor the day included 7000 head. For the better class of mutton offer ings the market was rather firm at North Portland for the day. There was only a small run, totals being 240 head, compared with 1420 a week ago, 3265 a year ago and 1463 head for this same day two years ago. Best offerings In the wether pens sold at $4.90, ami-buyers were rather eager bidders at this figure, although poor stuff is still inclined toward neglect. Best Rupplies of lambs available sold at $5.76 fiidewes at $3.76. At Chicago there was a steady tone in the mutton trade for the day, with no change In price. Kansas City mutton market was strong, with an advance of a nickel over yesterday. South Omaha sheep trade wan steady to a fraction higher.
