Darrow, charging bribery of Robert T.- Bain, Judge George H. Hut ton, who presided over th trial of Dar row which ended Inst Saturday, an- ' bounced yesterday, when the ense wni railed, that he would assign the case to Trending Judge Willis. Judge Willis will hear arguments on the defense's motion to dismiss the in dictment Monday morning. Preparing to combat the motion to dismiss, the district attorney's office claims that Darrow waived his right to trial within the 60 day limit, as prof vlded In the statutes, at the opening of the first trial. Upon the fact that Dar row has not been brought to trial with in the 60 day limit the defense Is bas ins Its motion to dismiss. Supporting th district attorney's contention. Dep uty District Attorney Arthur Keech filed ah affidavit In which ha declares that Darrow waived his right to trial within the 0 day limit In stipulations entered Into May 15. ' When questioned concerning the affl davit, Darrow declared that he .knew nothing; of any stipulation being entered Into. , Plant of Los Angeles Packing Co., Swift Subsidiary, Is rfc Destroyed. Four hundred horses and sheep were burned to death, buildings and' dressed meats valued at 1400,000 destroyed and Fred Montgom ery, an employe severely Injured in a fire that consumed; the plant of the Los Angeles Packing' Company, a subsidiary of Swift & Co., early today. Outside of the, city fire limits, there was little chance Xo save the buildings, which covered several acres. Many head of stock were saved, but the bellowings and, shrieks of the animals remaining in the sheds and corrals could be heard for blocks. . The plant was built In 1906, and was lightly Insured.
