According to the report of the county school superintend ent of Clatsop county the enumeration of the Children of school age in that County shows an increase of 835. the total being Hit. The enrollment shows 25 decrease, however, from 2523 in 1909, to 2509 In 1910. The number of teach ers employed last year was 98 , as against 1 for' the previous year. , The average monthly salatry of mals teach ers remains at $S0 and that ot female teachers at $53, there being no change In either instance, i There was expended for school purposes last year 187,897.72 as against $75,130.74 for the previous year.. - :'::-: -y----.. In Jackson county th enrollment hss Increased 163 and .now totals 4850, while the census shows an Increase of chil dren of school age of 129, the total be ing, 8499. The average monthly salary of male teachers Increased from $70 to $78 and the average salary of fe male teachers was $54 last year as against $50 the year previous.
