In view of the se crecy and dispatch with which the union was consummated, it Is said that the marriage was one of policy only, to, bar any testimony on the part of the present Mrs. Rodman. The law will presume that all se crets between husband and wife are sacred, and the state will be com pelled to forego one of its witnesses. The marriage of Rodman to the 18-year-old widow haa complicated the Real case, end has stirred up those in Portland who were summoned before the county grand Jury. Mrs. Has el Maddux of 289 East Forty-seventh street under Indictment with Rodman, acting under' Instructions from her at torney, will not discuss any features of the case.
