Mrs. Roa Wilson of Caldwell passed through here today with her -two ? children, la ; ' a wagon drawn by two emaciated ponies. enroute overland 26F miles to " St. Anthony, in the eastern part of the state, where her other two children are. confined at the reform school. The case or me mother going in this fash ion, and the deplorable condition Of herself and children recalls a pathetic story, the like of which is seldom met with. -. . Mrs. Wilson was left homeless and penniless about a year ago by her hus band In the town of Caldwell. She had a little team of ponies, an-old, wagon, and four , children, aged three, eight, 18 and 16. She began to make a living by cutting and hauling aage brush to town to sell for firewood. In the work she gained . the name of "Sage Brush Rosa." -The home of the familv waa in a Very uncomfortable old shack not far from the city limits. When school began in the fall she waa unable to send the children on ac count of not having clothes for them. After the children had failed to attend for several weeks the mother was no tified that they must ' go or the law would be brought to bear.
