Tan Waters. D. D.. who has servsd the parish during the last 17H years and who preached his last sermon In the morning: '1 am glad to have this opportunity of expressing my appreciation of Dr. Oorge . Van Waters, who tonight closes a long and faithful service as rector of this parish. Coming to this church in the day of small things, he has given to It the aealous service of some of the bast years of his life. I am grateful for the personal support and encouragement he has given me, and am glad that ha will still reside in Portland, and hope that for many years to come the diocese may have the benefit of his counsel, co operation and such personal service as he may b able to give.
