' JiEARLY LOST ON ' ' LASTVISIT HEEE Encountered Immense , Tidal Wave i Shortly ' After Leaving ; Columbia mver ana naa to rui law nuuu- j' mm I or ivfpavirs. wu anuwavv. - Admiral Borreson, one ,of the largest tramp steamers of Norway's merchant marine, will be here soori to load lum ber for the orient according to an an- nouncement made today.. The big crsft ia now en route from ' one of " the west coast nitrate porta for Puget sound,' where she will receive orders and coal for her long ruo across the Pacific. , The Borreson Is under charter to Bal four, Guthrie b Co. and. will carry away .. approximately 1,800,000 feet of lumber. She is especially well adapted for the' lumber-trade, having broad lines and few obstructions between decks. She , ,waa here about a year ago and attracted more than ordinary attention after her departure by encountering a tidal wave that nearly aent her to the bottom. The deckload carried away tearing the fun nel and other superstructure above deck " over the aide. The Borreson was bound for the orient, but had to put into Honolulu for nln ha reached the island nort after two weeks of sensational navlga-. ,tlon. without a funnel it was dirricuit to maintain steam, and as the stores had been water-soaked by the big tidal wave through which the steamer made a complete plunge, fit food was scarce.. The cabins and berths, too, had been completely flooded and this made .matters doubly unpleasant The elegant 'apartments of the captain 'and his wlfo were turned into a mass of junk and epuntera The Borreson belongs to the same owners as the Henrlk Ibsen, the larg est tramp steamer of the Norwegian merchant marine. The Henrlk Ibsen registers J, 960 tons net, and is now on the way from Newport News to Puget sound wltn a cargo of coal for the gov ernment The Ibsen, too, will probably come here for a lumber cargo. The vessel was here about It months ago and took cargo of grain to the orient. ,Th Admiral Borreson la next In sire g to the Henrlk Ibsen, the difference be-: ing only a few hundred tona In the net register. CARGO OP OIL CANS Lighthouse Tender Brings Empties From Coast Stations. The lighthouse tender Heather, Cap tain Byrnes, arrived here this morning with 3,000 empty coal oil cans picked up from- the various lighthouses along the coast. The cans are being dis charged at Couch street dock. This la the largest shipment of empty cans ever brought bare, the cargo rep resenting 160 tons- measurement, and practically filling the hold of the tender. Large quantities of oil are used, an nually for the lights that warn mariners oft their approach to dangerous rocks or shore, Returning to Astoria the Heather wilt piaoe a spar ouoy.in me river, one of ithe old ones having gone adrift -are north, the former on Puaet aound '.and: the latter In Alaskan waters. The Ci r o My Fee in AH Uncompli cated Cases The vast multitudes bf men who have taken my treatment have not been disappointed. They know that I do not promise more than I perform. To them I have actually illus trated in the cure of their own cases the truth of what I claim, namely, that my treatment is' as certain to cure as it is that the patient en- fages my services and follows my directions, ly success is due not alone to education, ex perience, skill and scientific equipment, but to the fact that I limit tny study and practice strictly to diseases and weaknesses of men. To male maladies alone I have earnestly and exclusively devoted 25 years of my life tnd on them all my faculties are concentrated. Contracted Disorders The serious results that may follow neglect of contracted diseases could scarcely be .exag gerated. Safety demand an absolutely thorough euro In the least possible time. I have treated more cases of contracted disorders than any other physician upon the Pacific coast. My cures are thorough and are accomplished In less time than other forms of treatment require In producing even doubtful results. I employ remedies of my own devising, and my treat ment is equally effective In both recent and chronic cases. I Treat Men Only The Vast multitude of men who have taken my treatment have not been disappointed. They know that I do not promise more than I per form. To them I have actually illustrated In the cure of their own cases the truth of what I claim, namely, that my treatment Is as certain to cure as It ts that my patient engages my services and follows my directions. My sue ces ts due not alone to education, experience, skill and scientific equipment, but to the fact that I limit my study and practice strictly to diseases and weaknesses of men. To male maladies alone I have earnestly and exclusively devoted 2B years of my life, and on them all my faculties are concentrated.
