The one big event of ths coming week lor ths people of the United- States, and over shadowing, all else In Importance, will, be the quadrennial national eleatlon or a president and vice-president. ' Seven national ticket are la the field, from : irhlch the voters may take their choice. In 28 stales governors or other slate officers are to be elected. - Six states will choose Justices of the ' euprafns' lonrt or minor state officers. - In seven elate representatives only are to be elected, end in two representatives and , a - legislature " only. Representatives In congress - will be chosen In . all, states '. excepting Oregon,, Vermont and Maine, -which states held their election during the summer. The voters of Michigan will decide upon the adoption or rejec tion of a new constitution. In other states ' proposed -constitutional amend ' ments of Importance will be voted upon. - Aside i from the presidential ; contest, the results of the elections In several of the states are awaited with general Interest. In New York the gubernator ial contest between Hughes and Chan- . ler has attracted national attention. Sir Robert Bond, the premier, is leading the government forces in the political contest, and the -opposition is headed by Sir Edward JJorrls. - President Roosevelt will leave "Wash ington for Oyster Bay Monday' sight and will vote early the following morn ing.
