In 28 stales governors or other slate
officers are to be elected. - Six states
will choose Justices of the ' euprafns'
lonrt or minor state officers. - In seven
elate representatives only are to be
elected, end in two representatives and
, a - legislature " only. Representatives In
congress - will be chosen In . all, states
'. excepting Oregon,, Vermont and Maine,
-which states held their election during
the summer. The voters of Michigan
will decide upon the adoption or rejec
tion of a new constitution. In other
states ' proposed -constitutional amend
' ments of Importance will be voted upon.

the results of the elections In several
of the states are awaited with general
Interest. In New York the gubernator
ial contest between Hughes and Chan-
. ler has attracted national attention. In
Indiana and Ohio the contest over the
