Two 19-year-old highwaymen held up William Iee early today and when he failed to obey their orders they beat him almost to death at Eighteenth and Dolores streets In the Mission. Iee was on his way home when the youthful thugs stepped up to him and demanded his money. At first he started to obey, but upon looking at the boys he decided they were either Joking or drunk and started to walk on. One thug hit him In the bank of the head with a blackjack, felling him. The ?ther struck film a heavy blow In the ace. While he lay almost unconsrta.ua thev kicked him brutally and searched his pookets. Iee was picked up by a policeman and taken to the Central Bmergeney hospital, where he Is in a critical condition. The young highway men escaped.
