Brown of Paulina, Pendleton academy, at Pendleton, or., has during the past few years been an abled to add to Its equipment two build ings, a girls' dormitory and a boys dormitory, donated bv these gentlemen respectively. These two buildings have become a veritable home for the boys and girls coming from a distance. Both Of the halls are under the immediate supervision of members of the faculty, thus giving such students personal at tention and advice and securing to them the benefits and culture of home train ing. AT THE THEATRES Well-Informed engineers say that the installation of water meters is the only solution for the water problem In the Irvlngton-Holladay and Montavllla dis tricts. The supply from the Mount Ta bor reservoir is enough for the reason able use of a population of 35,000 but the people all over the district leave their faucets open and thousands of gallons are wasted. Meters would pre vent tiis waste and save the situation, say the engineers. Residents of Tillamook street met last night at the Irvington Tennis club to consider the matter of street Im provements. It was decided that the widening of the street should be uni form along the entire length of the thoroughfare to bo paved. A petition for bltullthic pavement has already been made, and It was the sentiment of the meeting that the improvement be rushed through. Song and story marked the celebra tion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of George Wright post, 3. A. R.. of Portland, last night at the hall of the veterans, Second and Morrison streets.
