Four coasters have arrived In tho harbor during the past 24 hours. Larg est of the quartet wai the steamer George W. Elder, Captain Jensen, from Ban Pedro and way porta. She brought about 100 pussengera and aeveral hun dred tons of freight. The Elder reached Martln"a dock In North Portland late last night and Cap tain Jessen reports that dense fog caused the tardy arrival, the steamer fretting In about 20 hours late. He says the fog was Intense In some localities and great caution had to be observed In navigating. Captain Black of the steamer Eureka also reports having had to grope his way through thick weather. The Eureka arrived at Martln'a wharf last night a few hours before the Elder, brlngln lu passengers and about 100 tona freisrht from Eureka and Coos bay. Late thin afternoon the steam schooner Washington, Captain Naaon, arrived at Couch street wharf from San Francisco with one of the largnst shipments of sugar that has been made to this port for some time. It contains 2,000 sacks. Aside from the large sugir shipment the crait has a large nunn'ty of asphalt In barrels on deck and a num- ber of hales of slsnl. For return cargo the Washington will carry wheat and. lumber. Of all the coasters that have arrived during the past several days the gaso line sloop Condor, Captain Tyler, evi dently encountered the most severe weather and she Is the smallest deep sea craft plying out of Portland. Thi Condor came up from Newport with 8 small quantity of freight and will leave tomorrow night with her hold filled to capacity with merchandise for the stores of the popular Bummer re sort down tho beach. "We certainly had a goon snimm ui Sunday." said Captain Tyler this morn utnir of tho run. "but nevertho less w made It In good time from K.wnnrt to Conch street dock. The sea was very choppy." The schooner Ida Schnauer, which went ashore at the entrance to Nehalem bay about two months ago. Is still rest ing easy on the sands but will never be floated, according to Captain Loll of the tug George R. Vosburg of Nehalem. Captain Loll related the circumstances yesterday while here with the tug for n cargo of general merchandise. "The Ida Schnauer would have been saved from stranding had we arrived with thn tug four or five minutes ear lier," said the captain. "As It was we tried to throw them our heaving line while the schooner was drifting Into the breakers, but It failed to reach and she was hard aground before a second at tempt could be made to get a hawser on board. "The schooner had become becalmed and the current set her Inshore. One anchor had been lost and the small kedge anchor wonldn t hold. Catching the swells on her broadside she was go ing with the current at a lively rate, dragging the small hook through tho sand about as easily as had it been a fish-hook. "Seeing that there waa no help for the vessel, we set out for the life sav ing station to bring a boat for the crew." The Ida Schnauer was built SS years sgo and la aald to have been pretty well In line for the marine grave yard. While reports had her value at any where from 82Q.000 to $40,000. Captain Loll aaya he would not have given more than one tenth of the highest amount at the very best. Hence he considers It would not pay to haul her Into deep water, even If this could be done. "Weakness" In all Its phases and In practic ally every case that comes to me for treat ment is merely a symp tom resulting from a state of chronic inflam mation existing In the prostate gland. This In flammation may be a lingering result of some contracted disease or may have been brought on by early dissipation, excesses, etc. In by far the greater number of rases the general health of the patient Is perfect, there being no lack or either physical or nerv ous energy. No stimu lants or tonics are need ed, and If employed would only result In temporary excitement of the functions and posi tive Injury to the tender and already disordered prostate. My treatment is a local one entirely. It removes all Inflam mation, swelling and tenderness from the prostate gland, estab lishes normal eircula t I o n throughout the parts and restores per menantly and complete ly all natural functions By this method alone Is It possible to bring com plete restoration of strength and vigor. Dr. Taylor The Leading Specialist The best way to do a thing is ilways the right way. There Is usually one best way. If my meth ods of treating 'Weakness," Vari cocele, Contracted Disorders, Specific Blood Poison, Stricture and Piles ire right, then all other methods In use are. In some degree at least. wrong, because my treatment In each instance differs from the ordinary and Is original with myself. The treatment that Is quickest to cure, surest to cure, and that cures thoroughly and per manently, is the right treatment. The test applied to my methods proves them so ab solutely right as to class all other forms of treatment as Imperfect and wrong. I like to make this test. I like to treat the diffi cult cases that other physician have failed to benefit, because I am able to cure them both promptly and thoroughly. INSTRUCTIVE COLORED CHART GIVEN FREE UPON APPLICA TION.
