The horse stepped on i small stick of ex plosive wl:lh Jia'l been dropped into the street hy some one. The animal and tho buggy with Its occupants were lifted several feet mill thrown 20 feet to one side of the street. When the smoke and tho dust of the explosion cleared away It was found that nothing was injured to speak of. The ho'se s foot that stepped on the dynamite was slightly , hurt but not per manently. The force of the explosion maiio m hole In the hard street as big as a imsiiei measure.. It Is not known how the dynamite came to be In the street, but It is imposed thnt it wa dropped out of a wagon going to or from n rork quarry in thnt par-t of th city. Dykman. who, with Mrs. Tftft's son, Is a senior at Yale. Mr. Taft and his party are here on a pleas ure trip whjeh had its beginning in New York. They arc now on their way east over the Canadian Pacific, with stops at Banff and other interestnig points.
