It Is believed to have been the fastest sailing ever Indulged in on the Columbia river. - The Condor comes here about once a month for merchandise for the peo ple of Alsea, but la otherwise employed carrying lumber from the mills of the Waldport Lumber company to other Dorts in that vicinity where a good deal or nuiiaing is going on. According to figure compiled by the Merchants' exchange of this city; the Portland shipments for April were: To Europe, 1,023,71(0 bushels: orient, 88, 18 bushels: California, 47,63 .bush els. The Puget sound shipments Vwere: To Europe.. 694.485 bushels: orient. 8S.973 bushels; California, 196,071 bush els. The flour shipments from Portland WerS: To the orient. 19.027 barrels, to California, in, 698 barrels. From Puget sound:'. The Norwegian steamer Iiornelen Is due to arrive here Monday next to load lumber at the mills of the Portland Lumber company for Panama. The British steamer Sheila began loading flour at the mills this morning. She will finish on Puget sound. The Harriman liner Senator leaves to morrow morning for 8a n Francisco with all her accommodations taken. This is her last trip on the Portland-San Fran cisco route, ths steamer State of Cali fornia having been secured .to taks her run. , , The oriental liner INIromedia reached Astoria at 10 o'clock this morning, and win ne in tne narbor late tonight. She brings only a - few hundred tons of freight this time, most of her cam having been discharged at San Francis Co, where she called on the way from Yokohama.
