After it had reached almost the highest point in the Rocky mountain, the Oriental Limited No. 2, which Is the Great Northern's fastest passenger train east bound, struck a landslide, demolishing the engine and derailing a car. The wreckage caught fire immediately after the accident, and every car, excepting the last two. a standard sleeper an an observation car were destroyed. Harlan, formerly chief of the special service division of ths general land office, testified in the Henson-Hyde land fraud trial today that on various occasions between 1898 and 1902 he had received money from Frederick A. Benson for information concerning the creation of forest reserves and for help in expediting the applications for land sent to his offloe by Benson.
