St. Patrlck'a day, a green auto and a green acond baaeman worked havoc with the Dutchmen yesterday and allowed the Irlah to win a 7 to 6 victory over them. Tha Irish playera on McCredle'a team will tell you that the second basoman had nothing to do with the result, but that their victory waa due entirely to the day, and the big green auto with tha aign, ' This is Caaey'e birthday." The victory was due more probably to the addition of Raftery and Madden, for they both came through with timely blngles. Raftery want to hia regular place in center, while Madden played third base. Tha Irishmen started things in the first Inning, when they gathered in four big runs. Casey footled up the Inner worklnga of the Dutchmen, and Malloy and Raftery got safe hlta. Mo Credle aent one through Cooney, and both Casey and Malloy registered. Raftery also scored before tha dust had cleared away. A long fly to the out field scored McCredle. The Dutch scored In the second, and both teama in the third. In the fourth the Irish got two, and when the sixth came around it took all the gasoline out of the green auto, while the Dutca acored four runs. Cooney opened the Dutch slaughter with a two bagger to the left field fence. Lakall acored Cooney with a single and acored himself when Mar shall sent one hiking through the Irish Infield. Oroom singled, and through clever base running bv Cooney, who got on the paths a minute later, registered the final run. Both teama changed pitchers, Pemoll relieving Oroom and Harmon Bloom-field. young lnflelder try to cut a runner off at second, when the play Is usuall made to first, h haa got tha right atuf In him.
