HEM QUAKES FELUyjIlDEZ Shock Destroys Telegraph Cables Between Alaska and Puget Sound. (United Preaa Leaaed Wire.) Valdex, Alaska, Feb. 27. The most severe earthquake shock experienced in this section since 1903 occurred Friday morning, and since that time thoro has been a succession of smaller shakes. The heavy shock was at 1:10 a. m., February 14. It started with a steady long swing from north to south and terminated In a number of violent Jerks. No damage was .done to the buildings i they are Yll frame struc tures. The shock lasted nearly 80 seconds. ; The oable from hre to Seattle and the one to Seward were both broken by the shock.
