Shock Destroys Telegraph

Valdex, Alaska, Feb. 27. The most
severe earthquake shock experienced in
this section since 1903 occurred Friday
morning, and since that time thoro has
been a succession of smaller shakes.
The heavy shock was at 1:10 a. m.,
February 14. It started with a steady
long swing from north to south and
terminated In a number of violent
Jerks. No damage was .done to the
buildings i they are Yll frame struc
tures. The shock lasted nearly 80 seconds. ;
