The Biological society has received the reports of two eminent French physicians deputised to inquire Into the vexed question whether smoking is injurious to woman or not. The overwhelming testimony presented snows that It is, and that the use of to bacco especially interferes with woman's j prime duty, motherhood. Statistics regarding the state of health among the female employes of the government tobacco factories prove that the handling of tobacco and the maKing or cigara and cigarettes means early death to a great many of tha working women and girls. Among those who smoke, in addition to handling to bacco, the mortality Is areatcst. The Investigation includes the col lection of statistics regarding the mar ried atate of tobacco workera. The fig ures show that a greater percentage of tnetn man in other trades are cniidiess. while the mortality amona their chil dren Is exceedingly large. Most of the children die at a very early age. Long pleaded his case before Magis trate Brady at central police station this morning, but the magistrate re fused to believe him. Then Mrs. Long and a delegation of neighbors invaded the courtroom and convinced the mag istrate. "He has never been out after 11 o'clock at night since I married him, 27 years ago' said Mrs. Long. The magistrate turned the prisoner over to his wife without a tine. It lust goes to show that a man never can be sure he won't fall off some day, sad Long. The doctor who succeeds is always the doctor who Is able to do a little more than he tells the people that he can dr, and whose ability permits him to say thit he can do much. WEAKNESS "Weakness" in all Its phases and in prac tically every case that comes to me for. treat ment Is merely a symptom resulting from a state of chronic Inflammation existing In the prostate gland. This inflammation may be a lingering result of some contracted dis ease, 6r may have been brought on bv early dissipation, overwork, etc. In by far the greater number of cases the general health of the patient is perfect, there being no lack of either physical or nervous energy. No stimulants or tonics are needed, and if em ployed would only result In temporary ex citement of the functions and positive Injury to the tender and already disordered pros tate. My treatment Is a local one entirely. It removes all inflammation, swelling and tenderness from the prostate gland, estab lishes normal circulation throughout the parts and restores permanently and com pletely ail natural functions.
