Paris. Feb. 21. The Biological society
has received the reports of two eminent
French physicians deputised to inquire
Into the vexed question whether smoking
is injurious to woman or not. The
overwhelming testimony presented
snows that It is, and that the use of to
bacco especially interferes with woman's j
prime duty, motherhood.
Statistics regarding the state of
health among the female employes of
the government tobacco factories prove
that the handling of tobacco and the
maKing or cigara and cigarettes means
early death to a great many of tha
working women and girls. Among those
who smoke, in addition to handling to
bacco, the mortality Is areatcst.
The Investigation includes the col
lection of statistics regarding the mar
ried atate of tobacco workera. The fig
ures show that a greater percentage of
tnetn man in other trades are cniidiess.
while the mortality amona their chil
dren Is exceedingly large. Most of the
children die at a very early age.

TRANSFER AND HAULING
Pittsburg. Feb. 19 William L. Long,
an honest bookkeeper of the east end,
has been married 27 years and has
never spent a night away from home
until last night, when a park police
man "pinched" him for the first Jag he
has accumulated In 37 years of con
sistent, conscientious occupancy of tho
water wagon.
Long pleaded his case before Magis
trate Brady at central police station
this morning, but the magistrate re
fused to believe him. Then Mrs. Long
and a delegation of neighbors invaded
the courtroom and convinced the mag
istrate. "He has never been out after 11
o'clock at night since I married him,
27 years ago' said Mrs. Long.
The magistrate turned the prisoner
over to his wife without a tine.
It lust goes to show that a man
never can be sure he won't fall off
some day, sad Long. I used to be
something of a cut-up when I was real
voting. But now I'm up on the top seat
hear the whip for another 30 years."

Plain Logic
Which Explains
My Success
If I did not know to a certainty that the
service I am prepared to render Is superior
to that to be had elsewhere. It would be folly
for me to take the claims I do. There Is no
physician in the world so skilled and capable
that exaggerated assertions will not quickly
ruin his reputation and practice. The doctor
who succeeds is always the doctor who Is
able to do a little more than he tells the
people that he can dr, and whose ability
permits him to say thit he can do much.
The afflicted do not rush unthinkingly to a
doctor merely upon the strength of his state
ments. They look about for evidence of his
skill. They observe the volume of his prac
tice and investigate his professional stand
ing. I Invite the most thorough Investiga
tion. The more thorough the Investigation
the more certain is the Investigator to be
come my patient, and the greater will be
his confidence In the treatment he receives.'
My practice Is the largest becao.se Z Invar
iably fulfill my promises.

WEAKNESS
"Weakness" in all Its phases and in prac
tically every case that comes to me for. treat
ment Is merely a symptom resulting from a
state of chronic Inflammation existing In
the prostate gland. This inflammation may
be a lingering result of some contracted dis
ease, 6r may have been brought on bv early
dissipation, overwork, etc. In by far the
greater number of cases the general health
of the patient is perfect, there being no lack
of either physical or nervous energy. No
stimulants or tonics are needed, and if em
ployed would only result In temporary ex
citement of the functions and positive Injury
to the tender and already disordered pros
tate. My treatment Is a local one entirely.
It removes all inflammation, swelling and
tenderness from the prostate gland, estab
lishes normal circulation throughout the
parts and restores permanently and com
pletely ail natural functions.

I Give Individual Treatment
I wish to. make one point distinct and emphatic: The remedies em
ployed in treating my patients are prescribed and compounded to meet
the exact requirements of each individual caso. Everv natlnnt nf mine
' can rest assured that the treatment he receives is not of the "ready
' made"' kind. I make a special study of 'every case I treat, note all con
' ditions In the beginning, note all developments as the cure progresses,
and so alter my remedies as to accomplish Just what my knowledge and
' trained perception tell me must be accomplished. After diagnosing
your case I will know Just what you need.
Contracted Disorders
In the treatment of contracted disorders I offer a service such as no
other physician can render. The remedies I employ have a most thor
ough and positive action in cleansing the membranes of all infection
and subduing all Inflammation.
Specific Blood Poison
I cufe this leprous disease completely. The system is thoroughly cleansed
and every poisonous taint removed. The last symptom vanishes to appear
no more, and all is accomplished by the use of harmless Mood-cleansing
remedies. Do not submit to the dangerous mineral dosing commonly In
dulged in. Such treatment merely obscures the symptoms.
' Organio Weakness, Lost Vigor and Plies are also among tha diseases
I PROMPTLY and PERMANENTLY cure.
My offices are open all day from 9 a. m. to 9 p. m., and Sundays from
10 to 1.

you aro not prepared to undergo treatment at this time, I can always
