The sheriff left up for Port land and Dallas on last night's train. The cause will be tried before Judge George H. Burnett. Johnson-O'Connor The marriage of Charles E. John ion and Mist Elizabeth O'Connor was solemnized at St. Mary's Church yesterday morning at 10 o'clock the Rev. Father John Waters officiating. The wedding was a very quiet one, only the immediate relatives of the contracting parties being present Miss Mamie Wilson attended the bride and Mr. Joseph Moore acted as best man. Mrs Helen Johnson Dead Mrs. Helen Johnson the wife of Anton Johnson died at 2:20 yester day afternoon at the family res idence 248 Alameda street after a linuerinu: ' illness of Tuberculosis. Mrs. Johnson was aged 55 years and 8 months. She leaves besides her husband three children two daught ers and one son. The arrangements for the funeral have not been com plcted. Out on Bail- John A. Ekstrom, of Svenscn, charged with assault and battery on one Fred Hartman, and brought to this city for examination was released on $20 bail yesterday by Justice Goodman, for his appearance later. Miller who died at Portland, May S, will be held at the Lewis & Clark Cemetery at 2 o'clock this afternoon. All friends are invited to attend. Short Eastern Trip Mr. and Mrs. James W. Welch will leave this morning for Eastern Oregon on a business trip of a couple of weeks or so and will re turn about the 25th of the month. Skaters!
