Hiram Foulkes' Lecture Dr. Foulkes' lecture on Scotland was delivered in the Presbyterian Church last evening and wa well at tended, in fact, the paciou church wa crowded. Miss Rebah Hobson's solo wa received with marked ap proval. Mr. Foulkes showed showed about 100 stereoptican views ranging from Liverppl to Edinburgh via Wales. The reverend gentleman spent seven months at the Theological Collcee in Edinburgh so a great many of his view were in the Uni versity City. The home of Sir Wal ter Scott was shown and elicited much interest. Rev. Wm. S. Gilbert intro duced the' speaker in his usual affable manner. A Minatrel Stunt The last two evenings of the pres ent month are to be utilized by the Astoria Elks in giving minstrel per formances at the opera house, with all the "aolomb" and success for which they are famous. Thi group is funny enough when they are au natural"; and under cover of burnt cork there is no telling the limit they will reach..
