During November of last year mere were 14 sailing vessels cleared carrying 1.4S4.S40 oushels of grain, al ued at 905,2S7. This show an im provement thl month over the same period In 1S99. At ih? present time thrre are 12 vessels ahead cf the same period last year. At the present time there are 50 vessels listed or en route for this port, besides steamships that have gone Into the grain carrying trade. Besides these, there are about 13 craft In the stream, some loading and others wait ing to come In. With eight months of the cereal year of 1900-1901 yet to be recorded it Is probable that the shipments will reach an aggregate surpassing all past records.
