The greatest skeptic can hardly fail to be convinced in the face of evi dence like this. It is impossible to produce better proof of merit than the testimony of residents of Ashland, of people who can be seen at any time. Read the following case of it: M. Powell, 263 Oak street, Ash land, Ore., says: "I suffered a great deal from backache. Sometimes It bothered me so badly I could hardly get around. In the morning I was stiff and lame. The kidney secretions were very irregular in passage. As soon as I commenced using Doan's Kidney Pills I felt better and before long I was in good health. I will ingly confirm the endorsement I gave Doan's Kidney Pills some years ago. I generally use a box of Doan's Kin ney Pills in the spring and fall as a kidney tonic." Price 50c, at all dealers. Don't simply ask for a kidney remedy get Doan's Kidney Pills the same that Mr. Powell had. Foster-Milburn Co., Props., Buffalo, N. Y. Youth's Comnnlon and Tidings 93.50. Gold that Is usi In Jewelry and coins is always alloyed with copper or sometimes, ns in the former, with sli ver. Additlou of copper makes the color the populur "golden yellow." or ange or reddish gold. Silver turns gold pule yellow. We seldom nee pure gold, but It Iiiih that Indescribable yellow tint t so often fuxrlniites. The pure metal is so mullenble that It cuu be ben leu between xtrlps of vel lum Into sheets two-liiuulred iiud tlfty thousandths of un lueli In thickness. In ttils form It is truuxpurent und trans mits green light. When very finely divided gold Is sus pended in a ll(Uld by preelpitutioo from a solution It trmiHiiilts green light Similar to thnt of the leuf gold. Yet In ordinary well diffused light It seems purple, for this Is the color It reflects. In other words, if n light Is placed be hind a Jur containing a liquid with gold In Hue suspension it looks grveu. where us If the light is placed In front or at the side the color is purple. The vupor from boiling molten gold Is also purple. Whut theu. Is the real color of gold? The color of a suhHtiiuee dt-pends on Its ability to relied only light of that color, which In turn Is due to the ar rangement of the molecules. It seems, then.' even the simple mechanical chauges which we meutloned before as altering the physh-ul properties are ac companied by radical changes among the molecules as far as their mutual re lationships are concerned.
