Eastern Oregon, an eight pound son. Mrs. Teel was formerly Miss Elma Waugh of tys city. Olivet Altree and John Peterson took tha County donkey up to Mill Creek the first ot the week where Mr. Peterson will put In alder logs for Mr. Altree's mill. County Commissioner W. F. Wako field came down from Eddyville Tues day evening to be in attendance at the December term of County Court which convened Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hall entertain ed some twenty friends at a dancing party the first of the week. Light re freshments were served at midnight, and a lollv good time enjoyed by all. Mrs. Gipe returned to her home at Portland Tuesday after spending counts of weeks with her sister, Mis. L J. Brown, and family in this cltv Mrs. Brown accompanied her to rort- land where she will vlBit with h)r par ents for a short time. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Burton departed Monday for Portland where they ex pect to make their home. Mr. and Xi?s. Burton have been residents ot Toledo about a year and a half dur ing which time they made many friends. Mrs. Burton was very active in church and Red Cross work. Sheriff W. E. Simpson was taken out to the hospital at Corvallis yes terday noon. Mr. Simpson has been feeling bad for the past few weeks, and it is now thought that he Is suf fering with an abscess of the brain. He was in an'uncouscious state, and was taken on a cot In the baggage car, being accompanied by Mrs. Simp son, R. H. Howell and G. B( McClus key.
