Mrs. Wlilnery of Albany arrived last Saturday evening for a visit with Lieut, and Mrs. W. K. Patterson. M. and Mrs. Roberta of Slmms, Mont., arrived last evening, being call ed here by the illness of Mrs. Robert's cousin, Mrs. T. P. Fish. Work on the Fischer-Storey mill is being rushed along this good weather. The company desires to get the roof on before the rains set in. Don't forget to sut your clock back an hour when you go to bed Saturday evening otherwise you will get up an hour ahead of yourself. Mrs. James J. Gaither departed for Corvallis this noon where she will sit her son, Terrance, and incidently take In the big football game tomor row. Messrs. Chas. Calor, James Zib and Martin Kawetzky were down from Harlan yesterday, the latter two gen tlemeu making proof on, their1 home steads. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Neideier and children arrived down from Portland last Friday evening for a visit with Mrs. Nelderer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Rogers. John L. Huber, of Alaee, Is visiting hero with his sister, Mrs. J. E. Cooter, and family. Mr. Huber recently sold his place at Alsea and is looking for a location here. S. E. Newkirk, the Bootery man, de parted Monday for a trip to Portland and Salein. He expects to be gone a. week. J. B. Littler is over from Salem taking charge of the store in his absence. We are in receipt of a Hue from Jack Fogarty instructing us la for ward him his Le&der to 147 Gibbs St., Portland. Jack Informs us that he has purchased a new modern bungalow in South Portland. F. J, McElwaln with his piledrln.T and crew are Just finishing the driving of piling for a new switch at the Rob erts mill.
