LINCOLN COUNTY LEADER, TOLEDO, OREGON, FRIDAY, JUNE 21st, 1918. IN MEMORY William Clark Copeland, a well known pioneer of this county, died at his honi'j in Toledo, Ore gon, Wednesday morning, after a lingering illness of several months, aged 75 years, 7 months und 2 day3. Mr. Copeland was born in Harrison county, Ohio, November 14th, 1842, His fath er, Wm. Copelond, had a family of twelve children, one daughter and eleven sons, all having grown to man and womanhood. The subject ot this sketch came to Yaquitia bay in the early 70s with his brother, J. S. Copeland. At fir3t he made his home at Frank Stantons and engaged in various pursuits. First in losr- ging for the sawmill at Toledo Today is the longest day in the year. Dr. A. J. Hendry, th'j dentist, is kept pretty busy these days. Mrs. A. G. Schwartz has been visiting at Portland this week. Walter Hall, tba Siletz mer chant is a Toledo visitor today. Guy Roberts, the sawmillman, had business at Elk City yester day. B. F. Heinie Smith, who is with the Warren Spruce Co. here, went to Portland on business this morning. Miss Wretha Carson returned Saturday evening from Chema wa, where she has been attend ing school.
