The gramophone concert at the old school house last Saturday night was quite well attended despite the bad weather. ' Toledo wants a bank and there Is no better place In Oregon for a man with a limited amount of capital to run a safe and conservative bank. The creamery building has been re modeled Into a hall and now presents a very neat appearance. A stage has been erected, a cloak room fitted up, and a good public hall Is thus pre pared,. It will be dedicated with a dance a week from tomorrow night. An athletic club was organized by the boys of this place last Wednesday night, and will meet Friday evenings of each week in the new hall, formerly the creamery building. The boys ex pect to turn out a few Fltzsimmons' In the near future. A pleasant surprise party was given Harry Fant, at Mr. and Mrs. Fant's home, near this place, last Friday night. -W8-8- ELEVEN YEARS AGO Items taken from the filed of the Leader of that date. Thomas Pavey was in tho city Mon day. Mike Roddy of Wlnant had business in the city Tuesday. A. J. and Bob Warnock and Henry Velt of Eddyvllle are among the county seat visitors today. B. F. Grant of Harlan was in Toledo today. He reports that his live stook is coming through the winter in fine shape. The Fir and Spruce Lumber Com pany has purchased and had delivered at the mill the entire stock ot brick of the Dundon yard. The company also had a carload shipped in from the east C. M. Vldlto was a visitor rrom Newport yesterday. Mj. Vidito has assumed the management of the Bay View Hotel In partnership with C. C. Chlpman. Both gentlemen hall from Corvallls. C. C. Mr.Brlde of Albany passed homeward Tuesday morning from a business trip Into the south end of the county. Deputy County Clerk Lee Wade re turned from a trip up the coast Tues day morning.
