BADE LUMBER CO. RECEIVES THREE CARS After waiting nearly two weeks for cars the Bade Lumber Co. is finally beginning to secure a few cars, having received one Monday, and two Wednesday. Mr. Miller Informs us that the Government has promised them five cars today, for Government materials. It is to be hoped that the car shortage will soon be overcome, as it is almost impos sible for the mill to operate oth erwise, unless a boat can be chartered to come here. HALL BROTHERS WILL SHIP POTATOES Warren Hall of the firm of Hall Bros., Siletz was in the city the first of the week arrang ing for the shipping of a car of potatoes. Messrs. Hall now have some 400 sacks stored here in town, but will put about GOO sacks in the car, as the govern ment desires all cars loaded full capacity. At present they are paying $1.25 per sack delivered at Toledo. This first car will be shipped to Sacramento, Calif. SUNDAY TRAIN ALL NEXT MONTH Agent Spooner received notice last Sunday that the Sunday ex cursion train would be continued during the month of December. WALDPORT NOW HAS ELECTRIC LIGHTS J. W. Walker, the Waldport merchant, has Just installed an electric lighting plant, which furnishes lights for his store and the Hotel Wakefield. Fitts of O. A. C. wa3 ia Toledo 'last Friday even ing ana Saturday giving a course of lectures to the dairy farmers of this vicinity. The lectures were arranged by the local grange. Friday evening Prof. Fitts chose as his subject, "ine marketing of live stock." and he handled it in a very able and interesting manner. After tne lecture everybody went down stairs and enjoyed an old fashioned dance. Saturday Prof. Fitts lectured ou the feeding of dairy cows for milk production. A big basket dinner was enjoyed at noon, to which all did ample justice. These lectures should prove of great value to the farmers, and will undoubtedly tend to in crease the revenue received from many of our Lincoln coun ty farms.
