John Davenport killed a wild cat Monday that measured 5 ft. 7 in. from tip of nose to tip of claws on hind feet. , Mrs. Emma Aplet and Mrs. Chas. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Grant and family visited Mrs. Grants par ents Sunday and Monday. LUMBER COMPANY MAY GET BOAT Engineer Claude Wright, L. C. Smith and R. A. Arnold were out in the lafter'a launch Wed nesday sounding the channel from the mill dock down to the lower edge of the Toledo Port District. This sounding was done a8 a preliminary towards getting the Batodon or some sim ilar boat to come here after a 'cargo of lumber. The channel was iouna to De in excellent shape with an eleven foot depth at low water. The Company has found It al most impossible to l2et ram for shipping lumber. They have had in orders for cars now for a week and as yet have not received one car. THANKSGIVING BALL The local Honor Guard has made arrangements for a hie dance on Thanksgiving Eve. ROAD CLUB MEETS Monday the 12th was a busy day for Ona Good Roads Club, hauling lumber to build a pow der house on the new road down the creek. There was a large attendance. Everybody kept busy clearing, grading and saw ing and by 4:30 the powder house was finished. President C. 8.
