Ball returned the first of the week from a visit Qown on the Lower Siletz. Attorney W. E. Gwynn was up from Newport on legal business Monday. J. J. Redfleld of Mill Four was a passenger for Portland Mon day morning. The baseball boys of Siletz will give a grand mask ball at that place next Saturday night. . Joseph Swearingen went to Corvallis Monday morning on a short business visit. Station Agent J. F. Spooner is preparing to build a residence on the lot recently bought of i. R. Wishart. Chas. Hassman, the road boss of Yaquina. was looking after business matters in this city Wednesday forenoon. Willie Clausius went to Siletz Wednesday morning on the stage. He is looking after his father's estate. J. II. II. Andersen, candidate for Sheriff, was up from New port Saturday looking after his fences. It. L. McFarlancL who Is build ing J. F. Spooner's new residence in this city spent Sunday with his family at Summit. Ml83 Clara Larson, who has been teaching scnool In the Val ley during the past Winter, re turned home Monday evening. Newt Center returned to his studies at U. of O. last Saturday, after a few days' visit with his parents here. Lee Wade left Monday morn ing for the Upped Callpooia, In Linn county, where he will do a lot of cruising. Mrs. Chas. Cannon, after a visit with her mother, Mrs. R. F. Ralneti, here, returned to her home at Turner Monday. CllfT Crosno departed Monday morning for Paisley, Eastern Oregon, having been called there by the sudden death of his brother in law, Dr. S. S. Thayer. Vrs. Chas. Bradeson and children arrived over from Sa lem Monday evening for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Parrish. Mrs. Grant King of Siletz took the train Tuesday morning for Portland to be at the bedside of her mother, Mra. A. J. Rader, who is very ill. Leo Bateman of the C. & E. bridge crew, came over from Wren to spend Sunday with his family here. He returned Mon day morning. Robert Claire Trenholm ar rived at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claire Trenholm, at Alsea, Oregon, on April 14, 1916, weight 9a pounds. The product of the Toledo Creamery has been selling In the Seattle market the past few weeks as "extra" and command ing a price of 31 and 32 cents' per pound. Members of the South Toledo Auto Club turned out Suud?y and donated a half day's work toward Improving streets. Fred Horning and some of the other teamsters have also been doing some good work in this line. The Senior High School Class will give an all-night dance next Thursday evening, the 27th, at I.O.O.F. hall. A six-piece or chestra will furnish the music. Tickets for dance, 75c. Supper, 25c. per plate. This dance is given for the benefit of the High School annual. Come. Through the efforts of 1he local grange a traveling circu lating library has been located here in Toledo with headquar ters at the Toledo Creamery. These books are for the free use of all responsible persons, and may be kept two weeks with the privilege of renewal. Call at the creamery for further par ticulars. ' R. R.
