The Executive Committee of the Fair and Festival has sent out the following invitation to the people of the county. They have attempted to reach.every family, but as there are so many new families who have recently come to the county they have probably missed some, but the Committee's intention is good. If you should happen to bo slighted', don't be offended' but come to the fair, anyway, and do all you can to make it the success it deserves. Dear Sir: . The Executive Committee hope that you will receive this letter as a personal invitation to attend this, the first Lincoln County Fair and Festival. And, not only to come but to bring all the famijy. Camping grounds at Toledo, hay and water will be provided, free. Meals and refreshments at moderate prices can be had. Cheap" fares on the railroads have been arranged. Fairs have been held in Lincoln County before, and the splendid fruits and vegetables grown here have been admired by all ' visitors, but to the attraction of a County Fair those of a festival have now been added. There are to be two baloon ascen sions, a merry-go-round for the children and other shows and am usements for young and old. Ath letic sports, foot races, and races for motor boats and row boats, will bring many competitors. Band contests will be a feature, and vocal and instrumental music will enliven each day. Wednesday, the 8th, is Children's Day, with school parades and songs and recitations. Thursday, the 9th, is Pioneer's Day, and the veterans will be on hand. Friday, the 10th, is Benton County Day, and a large deputation from our neighbors are to be pres ent. " Exhibits of live stock of all kinds from both local and outside breed ers, will be an education of the greatest benefit to Lincoln County. Cream separators of the latest mod els will be seen, exhibited in detail and examined. An exhibition tent 178 feet long with accessory sheds has been ar ranged for. Competent caretaker for stock not accompanied by the owners will be engaged by the Fair Association with free hay and water for the live stock. The committee look with confi dence to the residents of Lincoln County to make exhibits of fruit, vegetables, and farm products which will be both a surprise and worthy of admiration to all our visitors. This invitation will prompt you to do your part in any or all of the departments mentioned, and an ad vertisement of our County will result of untold value and far raching benefit. The Secretary will gladly give you detailed information as to the lines of exhibits, impossible to be dealt with in this letter. . It is on the local public spirit of the citizens of Lincoln County that the Fair and Festival Association confidently rely to make this enter prise not only successful in this year but as a precedent for annual exhi bitions in the years to come.
