Lincoln County Leader. Official County Paper. Kmercil at tho postoflice at Toledo, Oregon, aB second-class mail matter. . SUBSCRIPTION RATES One Year - - - f 1 50 Six Months - - -75. Three Months - 50 Considerable discussion is going on relative to the quality of the Salem water. Some contend that it is per fectly pure, while others assert that it is full of wingless microbes and other dangerous animals. There are certain ritixeiiH in every nnmmnnitv who are' hIwhvs ready to slander the water. Jow the water of Toledo, for instance, is good enough for anyhody, yet we re cently heard au old-time-citizen de clare that it is bad very bad. He said he knew what he was talking about, for he tasttd it onre sev eral years ago. We remember, also) that while we were in Salem last winter State Printer Joe Whitney warned us to beware of the water, informing us on the quiet that he never drank it. While we thus briefly touch upon the important subject, we do not wish to ba understood as taking sides in the tipntixi Rnd learned discuooiun. , Forest Grove Poultry Yards ESTABLISHED IX 1877 Barred Plymouth Rocks Silver Wyandottes Brown Leghorns Black Minorcas My fowls are all Standard-bred and in line with the best strains of the East. GARRISON, Box 335, FOREST GROVE, OREGON William Jennings Bryan of Nebraska isugaiu engaged in the pleasant and solf-imposed duty of telling President llooHeyelt and our natioual lawmakers how to tun the governmental machin ery. Tho Nebraska etge and his theo ries have been turned down by the people several times, bat that separates no congealed aqua with Billy. Al though fairly reeking in prosperity himself, he continues to cut loose pro bono publioo. Billy is an amusing ligure. When he retires the stage will lose the greatest comedian of his day. The days are gliding swiftly by and Portland on hotels is shy. Of course, the visitors to the Lewis and Clark Fair in 1905 can be accommodated In tents furnished with sheetiron stoves and canvas cots, or the gambling houses' might be temporarily converted into sleeping apartments and the visit ors could munch redhot weinerwurst or tamales on the street corners. They needn't be afraid to come. Climate is about all they'll need in the line of nee rosaries and we've got tho climate. Commissioners' Court. (Continued from last week.)
