Parmalee has been sick, but is better at this writing. Mr. Parmele's hand received a severe cut from a scythe the fore part of the week. Three men were in here from Dundee, looking tor home. They will return in a short time and locate. The merchant of Siletz, Xarkey Logan, is moving his store down the river and will put it up on Morris Lake. Snow-flake. The deputy assessor is out in Morris preeinct. Look out for him. This part of the county is surely, if slowly, improving since improving since the county court has recognized us with an assessor. Everyone around the bay is pre paring for the f.shtng season in some way. There is talk of haul ing out fish both to Sheridan, over the Salmon river road, and to New port, down the coast. The Ball brothers were out to Toledo last week preparing to take out fish by the latter route. Web. W iu'rii TIan Tukned Yeixow. Great consternation was felt by. the friends of M. A. Hogarty of Lexington, Ky., when they saw he was turning yellow. His skin slowly changed color, also his eyes, and he suffered terribly. His malady was Yellow Jaundice. Miss Ella Knight of San Fran cisco will give an elocution and Delsarte entertainment Saturday, July 2S, at the church, the proceeds to be used to repair the buildiug. Everybody invited. Steve Miller of Portlaud is spend ing a few weeks at Yaquina. All his boyhood days were spent here, and he enjoys the old scenes and associations. ' Master Lloyd Truett returned Monday from Chitwood, where he had been visiting his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Trapp. Miss Bessie Parker of Albany came in Sunday and is visiting with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Parker. 1). P. Blue returned Monday from Aberdeen, Wash., looking fine. He is very much pleased with that country. Miss Gertrude Rowe returned Saturday from Portland and will spend the summer at Yaquina. Mrs. John Fogarty returned from Corvallis Saturday and went to her home at South Beach. Master Za:h Taylor of Corvallis is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. II. Penn this week. , Mrs. D. Jenkins returned last Saturday lioni an extended visit up in Washington. The tug Hunter came in last Friday after the three last govern ment scows. Mrs. D. P.
