One rather pleasant and intellectual-looking sister "gagged" some of Toledo's mule citizens in a rather artistic manner, and the larger of the little twins- there were two of them, you know did likewise, but no deaths resulted. The pretty tolerable old sister who was "title to Brother Speeia" was as soft and sentimental as a spring lamb. The sister who persisted in appearing in her native costume was quite a star or rather, n whole Mirer,! borealis, from away up north, An we remarked at the beginning, it was n well-balanced company, and gave a well-bulnnced perfouu" once. It was bad from start in finish. It was go bad it was good and everybody enjoyed it. The 'refreshment booths were very nutty and artistic and so were -the Jap prinoefess and dairy mui Is, who nerved the refreshments which fol lowed the departure of the Peak Sisters for Cape Nome were of the best quality and met with a hearty reception. The affair was under the auspices of the local Women oi Woodcraft, and it added, much to their reputations as entertaineis. The Totedo school board held a meeting Monday night and another last night. R. F. Holm was re tained as principal, George Mc Clusky was engaged for the inter mediate department nnd Miss Kihcl Soit of Irving for the prlm.iry. The Peak .Sisters arc the most evenly balanced aggregation of barn stormers that ever buncoed his community. The men were charged with the larceny of a cow belonging to Mrs. Sarah Troxell. The evidence was substantially as follows: , On or about a certain date Wil liam Griffith killed n cow on the Ofiflitli premises on Drift creek. Frank Baker, who was in the em ploy of William Griffith assisted in nitchering the animal. This part of the crime took place in the fore part of the night, and Uert Griffith also assisted by holding a lantern. The cow tallied with the description of one lost by Mrs. Troxell on about the same date, but the head, from which the. ears had previously been removed, was concealed and has never been discovered; neither have the cars; a pile of red aud-white hair, Mich as was worn by Mrs Troxell's cow, was found concealed at the base of a fir ttee. licit find Uaker both testified that the hair was from the animal killed by Wil liam, who, they also Mud, informed them that it was a wild cow, Mrs. Troxell's cuttle hud been tracked to the Griffith premises and back to another point on the range, and when found the rcd-iind-whitc an imal vvas missing mid Is missing yet, Attorneys 15.
