Plenty of rock coming in on every train to repair the road. Mrs. Ida Patterson returned Sat urday to her friends in Coburg. We notice the improvement of a nice new side-walk on Front and Water streets. Mrs. Blazer, has been quite ill during the past week, butat present is convalescent. George Crowder came in Mon day night from Los Angeles Calif. He was a resident of Yaquina sev eral years ago. Several of the railroad men from Albany came in Saturday night to spend ' Sunday at the sea shore, re turning Monday morning. Mrs. P. Abbey returned Tues day evening from a tour through several western states. She said she was glad to get back to the bay. Sheriff Ross was smiling after the jurymen Tuesday evening, and, I must add, helping the ladies at the hotel in singing, which was duly appreciated. VV. H. Parker of Albany came in last Friday night, accompauied by his daughter Bessie, to visit his parents Mr. and Mrs. Alleu Parker. They went out Monday morning. The steamer Maggie is in port. She came in all right no bar trouble and brought a goodly number of passengers and has quite a number for Coos bay on her down trip. Monday was a beautiful day the sun was trying to dry off the last wetting we had. Several of the ladies went boat riding.
