Tho Southern Pnclflc officials sny that they have arranged nnd will hnve to provldo three tracks from the present north Hue of the Alliance depot nenr Ulrod and Hroadway to handle the business and that a ferry crnsslng would uiuko It daiigorous for the people coming and going to the ferry. Also that It would delay traffic and causn them trouble lu switching. They will urge that the ferry landing he provided nt Central or Commercial or near ono of tho streets. For tho car rying out of the work It will bo necessary for the flats to bo dredg ed up to the fill, In order that tho scows, which will ho used to carry tho stone for the rlp-rnp work, may carry the material close up to tho point of construction. The contract provides for tho placing of 10,000 tons of rock to 1 roteel tho two fills; G000 tons on thu south side and 4000 tons on the north side.
