AFTER DECLARING that It Is time to talk again about own ing real estate, the San Fran cisco Examiner says: A good many of our readers have bought land on our advice, many others will buy it. Of. those that have bought, some are glad and some are sorry. But only thoBe that bought absolutely foolishly, without reflection or Judg ment, will regret their purchases in the long run. There is just one thing that Is safe and permanent as an Invest ment, and that Is the earth on which we stand. While our system of pri vate ownership of real estate shall last, the man who owns no ground cannot call himself free or safe. Money Baved vanishes suddenly, stocks drop in value. Real estate lasts, it rarely goes backward, It In creases in price nearly always. The romances of real estate pro fits are extraordinary all over the country. In New York City, of course, they are phenomenal. The other day a Mr. Burton of Now York bought the northwest corner of Thirty-eighth street and Fifth ave nud for $925,000. His own father had sold that piece of ground not very many years ago for forty-seven thousand dollar's. There Is a lesson In the value of land, and In the folly of selling it prematurely. Think about real estate, about combining the saving of rent, the making of a good, safe investment and big future profits, and above all, a comfortable healthy homo for yourself and family. Don't bo In too great a hurry, but don't wait too long. Little by little tho land In tho best places will slip away and go up In value. Look tho field over for yourself. Read tho advertisements ot real es tate for salo, and write your friends In the country and get any special information that you can. Go out nnd look at tho property. Don't get excited and hurried or talked Into buying against your will. Think everything over carefully, tho dlstanco from your work, tho dis tance from tho railroad station, the probablo Improvement In railroad facilities. If you aro not able to build now, buy your land, pay for It llttlo by little If you cannot pay all, but don't go beyond your mean3 under any circumstances. Build a small house at first, as you get tho monoy, and live In It whllo you are saving to mako tho houso bigger. You could easily start with n four-room house, small, modest, and put on an addition without spoiling the looks of it. If you havo bought, or when you do buy, don't get discouraged be cause you see grass and weeds growing in tho lot that was so well rj kept whllo tho real estate speculat was booming it. Don't bo discouraged if you fall to see dozens of buildings sprouting ' like mushrooms. Growth comes slowly, evon after transpoitation facilities exist. I Bo dollberato, careful, keep within ' your means, for debt and worry are ' abominable, j But got a good pleco of real es-. tato and hold onto it If you can. 3V4xl0 Wagon Gear with 3-Inch tires for $47 at MILNEK'S.
