The Marshfield High School team defeated the North Bend High School Hose Team Defeats North Bend Department's Team Here Yesterday Afternoon The Marshfield Are department's hose team yesterday afternoon de feated the North Bend departments on tne North .Bend grounds team In a hose race on Front street yesterday hy a score of seven to no by seven and one-half seconds. The time was Marshfield vious names and Marshfield nlaved a little steadier game than usual. The game was witnessed by one of the largest crowds of the season. In the first half, Rasmussen scored a touchdown for Marshfield and In the last half a safety was secured by Marshfield. The game was played mostly In the center of the field. The lineup of the two teams was practically the same as In the pre vious games. In place of Hansen who quit the Marshfield team, Stuts man played quarter and showed up well. James Cowan was umpire and Rasmussen and Cohen the timekeepers. POLITICAL ADVERTISING. CITIZENS' LEAGUE CMIDATES PLATFORM OF CARL ALRRECHT AND THOMAS COKE. 31 seconds and North Bend 39 seconds. The race was over a distance of 450 feet, including the laying of 150 feet of hose, making the coupling and getting water. Fred. Johnson and Chief Clem Painter of North Bend, and Chief Tom Nlcols of Marshfield acted as judges while J. L. Wilcox, VInco Pratt and Tom Nl cols acted as timekeepers. Chief Painter of North Bend, thought that his team ran under a handicap here and promptly chal lenged Chief Nlcols for another race to bo pulled off in North Bend N'ew Year's Day. It was quickly accept ed. Following the race, the Marshfield department entertained the members of the North Bend department with their wives and sweethearts at a banquet and whist party at the I. O. O. F. Hall last evening. About fifty were present and the event proved a most enjoyable one. A program of toasts had to bo dispensed with to enable the visitors to catch tho late boat for homo. At whist, the prizes were won by Mrs. Russel, Sam Johnson and Mr. Parker of North Bend and Mrs. Noah of Marshfield. Mrs. Jack Davis and Jack Mauzey carried off the consolation prizes. The members of tho Marshfield hose team In yesterday's race were: Geo.iThomason, Ren Noah, Ray Ollvant, Wilkes Cavanagh, Dan Keating and Keenan. Traver and Albrecht" on hydrant and Longstaff and George Gulovson on nozzle. The North Bend team consisted of Chas. Eckhoff, Louis Loomls, Louis Struman, James Parker, Lee Heath, Cliff Martin, Ray Bralnard, Seth Johnson, Jack Knowland and Percy Pratt. Play Tie Game. Yesterday afternoon the Marsh field Independents and the North Bend Independents played a tie game on tho Marshfield grounds, neither team being able to score.
