Here Yesterday Afternoon
The Marshfield Are department's
hose team yesterday afternoon de
feated the North Bend departments on tne North .Bend grounds
team In a hose race on Front street yesterday hy a score of seven to no

vious games. In place of Hansen
who quit the Marshfield team, Stuts
man played quarter and showed up
well.
James Cowan was umpire and
Rasmussen and Cohen the timekeepers.

cols acted as timekeepers.

to bo pulled off in North Bend N'ew
Year's Day. It was quickly accept
ed. Following the race, the Marshfield
department entertained the members
of the North Bend department with
their wives and sweethearts at a
banquet and whist party at the I. O.
O. F. Hall last evening. About fifty
were present and the event proved
a most enjoyable one. A program of
toasts had to bo dispensed with to
enable the visitors to catch tho late
boat for homo. At whist, the prizes
were won by Mrs. Russel, Sam
Johnson and Mr. Parker of North
Bend and Mrs. Noah of Marshfield.
Mrs. Jack Davis and Jack Mauzey
carried off the consolation prizes.
The members of tho Marshfield
hose team In yesterday's race were:

Keating and Keenan.

Yesterday afternoon the Marsh
field Independents and the North
Bend Independents played a tie game
on tho Marshfield grounds, neither
team being able to score. There was
no fancy football but the teams were
pretty evenly matched. Numerous
changes had to be made In the line
ups. Among those on the Marshfield
