It Is reported that Henry Hoeck will shortly re sume work at his logging camp In Smith's Basin. The camp has been down during the summer owing to low water. Wed nt North Bend. Friends have been apprised of the marriage of An drew Hoben and Miss Pearl Rttzeen which will bo solemnized in North Bend tonight. Mr. Hoben Is a real estate man at North Bend and Miss Razeen is from North Inlet. Rig Catches of Fish. Somo of the biggest catches of salmon of the sea son were made by the fishing boats in the lower Bay last evening. As many as 400 were taken by somo of the boats. Many large Chlnooks were taken. Most of the catches were for the Empire cannery. Former Resident Missing. Wm. Palmer, a pioneer resldont of Coos Bay, and his brother, Earl Palmer, aro missing from their homo near Belllngham, Wash., and considerable anxiety Is felt over them, according to a press dispatch. While hero, Mr. Palmer lived on South Coos River and loft to join other members of the family In Washington. To Open 'IV Street. There is a movoment on among the business men near 'B' and Front streets to have 'B' street opened to the Bay. Tho property between Front street and tho Bay was recently fenced off by tho C. A. Smith Lumber and Man ufacturing Company on account of tho wharf being in bad shape. Tho property Is now In litigation, tho city having attempted to condemn it for street purposes. Hunters Return. Messrs. Aasen Intend to commence operation on Matt Rinck Creek after election. ALEX WILSON, who has been em ployed as an engineer near Shel don, T,Vash, has returned to Coos Bay and will take a position on tho Daniels' Creek logging road. REV. E. B. JONES of tho South Methodist church of Coquille, was In tho city this week on his way to Portland to attond tho yearly con ference of which ho is secretary. NORTH BEND NEWS DIED At Ferndale, on tho 13th Inst., infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Savage. Mrs. Alexander of Cooston visited friends In North Rend yesterday. Miss Wanda Stephens of Marsh fleld, Is spending a few days visiting friends In North Bend. David Mastadon of Shoro Acres, visited friends In North Bond yes terday, returning homo today. Mrs. Mastadon has been in Port land for a short time and will re turn homo on tho Breakwator Friday. Capt. A. M. Simpson has a number of mon at work repairing tho wharf thai was burned at tho time of tho Woolen Mill Are. Curry county. They had a very pleas ant time with tho exceptions of tho nights spent out under trees with only blankets over them, during tho heavy thunder and lightning storms. Tho party's bedding and all tho mem bers got soaked but they got an oik and aro quite well pleased. The fun came when they tried to cure tho meat by smoking It in a sort of a wigwam as tho wind blow It down. Then in order to savo tho meat, they tried to salt it, but as they had to got their salt from sea water and that article was scarce. NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS.
